Rostec ventilation maker sees smear campaign after hospital fires

MOSCOW, May 20 (PRIME) -- Radio Electronic Technologies (KRET) company, a producer of pulmonary ventilators, accused mass media on Wednesday of a smear campaign against the company after fires in hospitals.

"After a recent tragedy in the hospitals of Moscow and St.Petersburg, a massive information campaign aimed at discrediting the Rostec corporation, KRET’s holding company, the Urals equipment plant and the Russian industry in general started. Methods violating law and undermining the basis of professional journalism were used," KRET, part of state technological corporation Rostec, said.

Two KRET ventilators were used in two hospitals, in Moscow and St. Petersburg, where fires took lives of seven people on May 9 and May 12.

An investigation of the incidents with the ventilators involved in the incidents is taking place, the rest of the equipment is working as usual, the company said.
